submitted by Calico G. - |Recommended: YesSome issues but otherwise great — I love living here but it is a little spendy compared to other places. It’s a bit annoying that the light over the stairs to the parking lot is burnt out and I can imagine it’ll get dangerous as it gets icier. We also have a sealant problem on our door and a maintenance guy came to fix it but now it’s almost impossible to lock and unlock our door. Other than that, great apartment and super pet friendly
response from property -Calico,
Thank you for leaving us a review! We are working on getting that light replaced along with the rest on that building. The company we hired to do it should be out here this week. Also if you guys are still having issues with your door please contact the office asap so we can have our maint team come fix the issue.

submitted by Jesse B. - |Recommended: YesHands down best place in town. — I've lived in a few apartments around town as well as a few houses, but this apartment complex is by far the best I've lived in. The office staff is amazing, super nice, and actually there to help you. The complex is always clean and quiet, and despite my neighbor playing loud music at all times I rarely hear it thanks to the thick walls. 10 10
response from property -Jesse- THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LEAVE US A REVIEW! We appericate you being apart of our community here at Cougar Ridge! We know the renovations and landscaping can sometimes be a pain but on the bright side the complex is looking AMAZING! Have a great rest of your week and CONGRATS on the new job!

Noise I live on the first floor and can hear EVERYTHING. It's extremely frustrating especially when I am trying to sleep because I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking around. I know it isn't their fault and they aren't even trying to be loud, so this is an apartment issue, not a neighbor issue. Thus the 1 star rating for noise.
Grounds Cougar Ridge has been renovating the community which is nice. But their first floor patio deck is such a poor excuse. It's just a slab of concrete that I am paying for. And it's especially irritating living on the first floor because people tend to use my patio as a shortcut to avoid stairs, and they peek into my apartment a lot. Huge invasion of privacy, I seriously wish they'd renovate the first floor patios and add a fence around it. I've considered moving out solely because of this issue.
Construction For a college student apartment community, the set up is not bad at all. I chose Cougar Ridge for their spacious living area and flooring before Birch Hill renovated . There's obvious wear and tear, but you aren't here forever so it's manageable. There's AC here which I love because the summers here can suck, and heaters obviously for the cold winter. My only complaint is the bathroom...it's kind of an eye sore compared to how nice the rest of the apartment is. Wish they'd put a little more effort into the bathrooms like Dabco does.
Maintenance Staff I appreciate the maintenance here, they're really friendly and try to get issues done asap. Staff is cool too, though this place is nothing without Evan. Evan's the man guys.
Overall...this place is average for the rent cost. It's frustrating that the rent goes up slightly when you renew your lease. In my opinion, it's the best apartment community if you have pets which is the primary reason I chose this place. I just wish they had nicer bathrooms and did something about their first floor patios due to the invasion of privacy. BUT, I can say I will likely miss this place when I graduate and move out. At least I know my bunny will as she is very fond of this place.
OH, also. I assume a lot of people pick the first floor to avoid hauling groceries up the stairs haha. This place is a maze and stairs are inevitable. I'm on the first floor of my building and I still have to go up down two flights of stairs everyday which is why I recommend avoiding the first floor units.
response from property -Erica,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us an honest review! Thank you for being so understanding! I would love to set up a time with you for us to look at your bathroom and see what we can do to improve the look for you! Also we are planning so more landscaping up by your unit that I hope will help cut down the traffic for those cutting across your patio! That is annoying! I love the idea of covered parking! And we do agree Evan is pretty amazing! We are very glad to have him on our team and helping us take care of the residents! Please feel free to reach out to us if you need anything! Have a great week!
submitted by Clayton F. - |Recommended: YesGood Apartments at a Reasonable Price — For 60 more, we could have stayed at a unit with a washer, dryer, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. The downside was no pets. This is a pet friendly community which is awesome.
The plumbing fixtures are pretty low quality and the finish easily shows the hard water stains after only a few uses. The appliances could probably use replacement. There is barely any cabinet or storage space for clothing and kitchen stuff and no real pantry which was a disappointment. The bathrooms have mildew darkened grout probably from poor waterproofing when the time was installed.
Apart from that, the unit is clean with nice floors and carpets. The Windows let in a decent amount of light and the staff are always ready to help. Overall pleased with the community and the staff, and glad we have a unit that is close to school.
response from property -Clayton,

submitted by Morgan L. - |Recommended: YesPretty good — Can't complain too much. Walls keep sound in most of the time, but doors do not. My apartment is pretty upgraded, but the parts that are not look incredibly dingy, which off-sets the upgrades. But I really like the upgrades and think its really nice all around, plus the amenities are great.
response from property -Morgan, Thank you for taking the time to give us an honest review! Please contact the office so we can send someone over to look at your doors and see what other improvements we can make to your unit! Thank you for being a great resident here at Cougar Ridge!
submitted by Hannah F. - |Recommended: YesNot bad — There isn't much space to park on the upper end of the complex, but the apartments are pretty nice. They're somewhat small, but not too small that you feel cramped. The water isn't clear, so the pipes are probably old. There's lots of stations providing doggy bags and trash cans so that you don't have to carry the full bags around with you. Although there's lots of construction happening right now, everyone is being really thoughtful with when they start and finish working.
response from property -Hannah,
Thank you for taking the time to give us an HONEST review! We really appericate your thoughts! I have to agree that upper parking lot is very small! I wish we could make it much bigger! If you need a parking lot with more space the lower lot is very open. We will also be adding even more pet stations to help the residents keep all the dog poop picked up! I am glad to hear the construction workers are being good to the residents! We love the crew we hired to help us bring our second laundry room and those units back to life! Please contact the office if you need anything! Thank you and have a great weekend!
submitted by Chris J. - |Recommended: YesOnly two major problems — I like the over all design of the complex but i can hear my upstairs neighbor all the time. Every step they take i hear a squickyness noise. Its creepy and obnoxious to hear every single step they take. Also the water heaters are too small and you cant take a bath because the water will go cold halfway through filling the tub.
response from property -Chris-
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! Reviews help us know where we need to grow our customer service. I agree the new flooring can be noise in some units. As for your hot water heater please submit a work order. It sounds like you have a bad element or t-stat. We will be contacting you shortly to make sure we get this fixed for you :)
Have a great rest of your week! GO COUGS!
